All dressed up for Haley's Graduation
A dinner date in downtown Edmonton
Home, sweet home!
Caleb and I first met as young teenagers back in 2011, and we instantly clicked. I vividly remember meeting him in a bouncy castle during an all-night event at a farm. From the moment we met, we were inseparable. We started off as two goofy kids with a shared love for music and memes—and honestly, not much has changed since then!
Shortly after meeting, I moved back to Grande Prairie to finish high school and begin university. Our budding friendship soon grew into a long-distance relationship within the year. As teenagers, life eventually took us in different directions, but our connection endured—we always felt tied together by a deep friendship at the heart of it all.
In 2015, when I moved to Edmonton, we reconnected, and it felt like no time had passed. Before long, we rented our first apartment together and began our journey as "struggling students." Those years weren’t always easy, but we always found reasons to laugh and were surrounded by amazing circles of friends who made it all worthwhile.
During the pandemic, we decided to grow our little family by adopting two cats, Lola and Moustache, along with dreams of something bigger. In a leap of faith, we moved to Grande Prairie with plans of starting a business and a chicken farm. But God had other plans for us. He led us to the Catholic Church, where we found an incredible community that has deeply enriched our lives.
Over the years, we’ve truly grown up together, shaping one another into better versions of ourselves. We’ve walked through so many seasons of life—supporting each other in “in sickness and in health,” weathering five moves, buying our first home, adopting two pets, making countless friendships, celebrating graduations, finding faith, blending our families, grieving losses, and celebrating wins.
Caleb is the most kindhearted, special person I’ve ever met, and I couldn’t imagine life without him. Together, we’ve built something uniquely ours—a life full of love, laughter, and gratitude. I’m thankful for him every single day, and I can’t wait to celebrate our journey and share this joy with all of you in May!
From that fateful encounter in the bouncy castle where I met Haley fourteen years ago, I always had a feeling this day would come. Haley and I began dating in 2012, and I was honoured to be her high school graduation date the following year. I remember spending many hours on the Greyhound bus traveling to see her in Grande Prairie, and the graciousness of her mother, Tracy for letting me stay in their home. Back then we were young and in love, but the long distance relationship had it's commensurate difficulties, and we sadly drifted apart for a few years as I finished high school and Haley began her university studies. As fate would have it, however, we were brought together once again when Haley moved to Edmonton where I was studying for my Bachelor's degree, and our relationship was quickly rekindled. Before long, we had a small apartment together, then another, then a home. This time in our lives had many joys and difficulties as I struggled with my health, but Haley always stuck by my side, supporting and loving me through the challenges of life. In 2021, we moved to Grande Prairie with a dream of starting a family and owning a property in the country. Little did I know the Good Lord had plans for us. We both found God and joined our local Catholic parish where we were baptized together in April of 2024. We are immeasurably excited to be joined together, under God, for the remainder of our earthly lives. We now own a home together in the city, enjoy the benefits of a strong community of amazing friends, have wonderful careers to support one another, and are overjoyed to begin the next chapter of life together. Only The Lord knows what's in store for us on life's great journey, but I know that whatever it is, I couldn't dream of a better person to share it with than Haley, my beloved.
